Have you heard about the Robin Hood Gambler? Apparently, about a year ago, a high stakes poker player in Las Vegas decided if he could use his talent for winning to help people out of debt.
“I'm looking for anyone that's in debt … that needs some help" says the anonymous gambler, who will be working the tables in Sin City in the new year to raise money for another family in need. "I'm going to look for the story that's really going to touch my heart. That's it.
Last year, using the screen name robinhood702 ( 702 is vegas’ area code), he asked for people to write to him via his website and tell their tales of misfortune. He picked a Michigan couple who had gone $35,000 into debt because of their daughter’s fight with brain cancer. He flew them to Las Vegas, treating them to a wonderful holiday, and sent them home with $35,000 in hand.
Now he is doing it again. The anonymous gambling man says, “I am looking for story which really touches my heart”. Are your down on your luck? Had a bad year? Just scraping by? Here is his website if you would like to tell him your story.

Dear Robinhood 702,
I was watching the news tonight and saw your story.
I am so amazed that there are good people like you left in this world!!!
I am a single mom trying to make it financially in this economy and I am finding it to be a harsh task.
I have been trying for two years to find a job and have had little luck…I thought I had a job until my boss (the owner of her company) lost track of what she was doing and is on her way to losing her company because she can’t seem to focus on business needs.
I have never been able to give my children anything for Christmas and now I don’t know how I will put a roof over our heads.
I have two friends that are eighty two and eighty three years old that I call mom. It is because of these two friends that I have been able to pay my rent, my car payment and buy food for our table. I owe 20,000.00 total for my car, and to pay back what I owe to people just for helping us.
My ex-husband is supposed to pay child support but we all know how that goes.
I have two adult children and two grandchildren in Kansas City that want us to move closer but I can’t afford to get there. If I could I would move there rent a house and open a home daycare that caters to single poor parents who have to work to support their families.
I also have a seventeen year old girl that was removed from her home buy the state because of problems with her single mom. I take care of her with no help from the state or anyone else and I am happy to do so because I knew the whole family and now I know she is safe.
I have never done anything like this before but I really do need help at this point and time in my life..
Thank you so much for at least taking the time to read this, I have no video to send only this letter.
